Elements of Health -
Everyone,

I can't believe it's been three years that Elements of Health has been here! It's been an amazing ride so far.
I have met the most amazing people over the last few years. People that aren't just people, they are friends. Being in a town like High River offers the ability to meet people like this. Some of the most amazing people I have met are those that I work with. They have supported me, nurtured me, and are always trying to help.
Elements of Health has been the largest undertaking that I have ever had. I've worked from 9am-5pm in sessions, then from 5:30pm-whenever I finish the 'business' work for a long time now. If I didn't have the support I have I would have 'burnt' out a long time ago.
Now, I am stepping into a new chapter of my life by getting married next weekend. I'm very fortunate to be able to marry such an amazing, supportive person that I have the most respect for and that I love dearly. I thank everyone for their continued support at Elements of Health.

Lindsay- Thank you for your amazing wisdom, compassion, your Reiki treatments, and readings! You have made a huge impact on my life. You are AMAZING at what you do- don't forget it!
Crystal Dade- Thank you for always supporting me. You are the best friend a girl could ever ask for! I'm so glad that you are on the path you are- I'm so happy!
Dawn- You have taking office admin to the next level. You have made my life so much more simpler and I can't wait to see where you go next with Elements of Health.
Wanda- I can't thank you enough for all that you have done for me. Business related and personal. You are my sister too and I adore and respect you. Your work is fabulous! I am sooo proud of you!
Lorne Herriman- Honestly you are a saint! Thanks for all of your computer tech help, your car wisdom and most of all your encouragement! You are awesome!
Debbie- We are super excited to have you here with us! You have such a caring nature and we are so lucky to be around you!
Nicole- You are so sweet and compassionate! It's a joy to have you here! Can't wait to work alongside you more in the future!
Mom- More than words can ever express- I love and care for you. You are the rock that is always there. Thank you for all the times you have put others before yourself. You are... I'm sure... In fact I know... the most amazing mother that has ever been known.

Someone told me once when I was in China, which I do believe is from Buddha...
"If you love what you do you will never work another day in your life."

I think this also applies to those that you work with. I'm extremely lucky.

Thank you for your support... everyone...

It has been a very long time since I have been on here I see!

Things have been going well for myself and the clinic. I have cut back my hours in hopes that in the near future I can have a bit more time for myself and my husband.

In between the clinic and my practice I am now helping Curtis with calving. I really and truely had NO idea as to what I was doing. I am slowly learning though. A funny story- last night Curtis was a touch run down so I told him I would go and check the 'ladies' at 1:30am by myself. I did just that! Well, the first group of 'ladies' I saw looked AOKAY. I saw that one of the ladies had her calf and was laying there licking her off. Yay for me! No troubles! THEN Betsy stood up- calf number two was on its way- NOW WHAT? I haven't done this by myself yet. SO, I called Curtis to come out. He came out and saw this thing hanging there so he had to help her get this little guy out. I was sure that I was helpful before I went out there...Not so much. So, Curtis went into the house and got a bottle ready and told me that I was going to feed a calf that was laying out there alone, no mom- she took off and left her. I assumed he was coming, but he wanted to see if I could go on my own. I walked out there, bottle in hand, heart in hand, and stomach in throat. These ladies aren't so sweet when you are messing around with their babes. I walked up there, tough as nails (haha) and I fed that lil guy like I was made of steel. When I finished, I walked away like I had just saved the universe.

Moral of the story- If a cow stands up and there is something hanging out of her- SHE IS PROBABLY HAVING A CALF. AND if a calf is out there by itself- there's no mom to really be afraid of so put your big girl panties on and feed that sucker like it's the last thing you will do.

~ yes, this is my very eventful life!

Well, I am well underway on the path to business rejuvenation! My days have been full of computer work, bottle feeding calves, and more computer work! Today was the very first day that I have missed practicing- even though its only been one week! You will be more than likely seeing my face at the clinic in front desk position for a while (around the beginning of April). Our fabulous LEAH is leaving us. Prior to accepting the position at Elements of Health she had made a commitment to resume work at the Nanton Golf Course! I myself believe that she just really likes to golf and THAT'S why she's leaving us! ARGH! Oh well, she is great and we will miss her. She's always making us laugh and keeping things light. Especially for myself as my transition with work has been less than easy. No matter who is upset with me taking a step back to manage the business- Leah has helped me get through that! She stays late to help me get things done, she does inventory counts when I don't even ask her to. She is just simply an Amazing BFF!

Thanks Patfadden!

Hi there!
This blog has sure turned into a lot less than a blog. I do think about writing in it everyday, however- time is lacking these days.
An update on the newly-married life for ya- we are NOT pregnant. Most people assume I am now that I have taken a step back. Haha. Today I actually had a person rub my stomach and ask if there was a 'WEE' one in there. Interesting hey? I will definately not be rubbing anyones abdomen now that I know what that was like!
Well, I'm really proud of my progress at the clinic 'behind the scenes'. I've been working morning, noon and night and I am missing my practice. This next week I will be taking over for Dr.Viktoriya as she is going on a much needed holiday with her kids!
My baby brother is having a baby any day now (well his significant other is). I am more excited than them I think. They even asked me to pick one of the middle names! TBA...
Well, unfortunately? the cows are gone- they have gone West for the summer to eat and get fat! So far, I have my favorite little calf... her name is BAMBI! She looked like a Deer and I'm pretty sure she loves me and misses me. She was the one in the story I told you above. I asked Curtis if I could keep her- apparently he was deaf that day as I did not get an answer...
My brother Tyler is getting married in less than a month. I am excited for him and scared at the same time. I remember it all too well... haha
Anyhooo- I will sign off for now- but please stop by for a visit!

Okay, this is NOT a blog... it's something else... not sure what yet haha!

Just read my last 'note' and laughed AT myself. An update- my brother had his baby and her name is Abygail Vita Lorraine Chikowski. Curtis and I got to pick one of the middle names which was Vita (Italian for Life). She has got to be the sweetest lil' thing I've ever seen for sure. My other brother is married and having a baby in May. I took her pulse and I am positive she is having a girl. I think her name will be Christy.... haha.
On another note, things have been crazy busy in our lives. Curtis is busy with Calving season... it is in fact a season... lasts that long anyhow. We did get away to Mexico for a week to vacation in January. We are fortunate enough to have friends that live down there and it was amazing! Super hot and I'm going to be honest- VERY SAFE! The media (I feel) has blown all of these negative points of Mexico out of proportion. Go there. You can find trouble anywhere you go so don't look for it and you will be fine. Thanks Chuck and Yolanda for the fantastic experience.

Okay, that's all I've got for now!
Be healthy!
